This time recruitment has been announced for a total of 630 posts, which include the posts of Sailor (General Duty, Domestic Branch) and Mechanical (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics).

The online application process for this recruitment has started from 11 June 2025 and interested candidates can apply by visiting the official website joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in till 11:30 pm on 25 June 2025.
These posts have been divided into two batches – CGEPT-01/2026 and CGEPT-02/2026. The first batch includes 260 posts of Sailor (GD), 30 posts of Mechanical, 11 posts of Electrical and 19 posts of Electronics. At the same time, the second batch again has 260 posts of Sailor (GD) and 50 posts of Domestic Branch. Thus, a total of 630 posts will be filled by eligible youth.
Eligibility Criteria
The educational qualification to apply for these posts has been decided differently. For Sailor (General Duty), the candidate must be 12th pass with Mathematics and Physics, while for Domestic Branch only 10th pass is sufficient. For Mechanical posts, the candidates should be 10th/12th pass with 2 to 4 years diploma in the relevant engineering trade from an institution recognized by AICTE.
Age limit : the age of the candidate for all the posts should be between 18 and 22 years. However, reserved categories will get the benefit of age relaxation as per the rules. The recruitment process includes a written examination, physical fitness test (PFT), document verification and medical examination, on the basis of which the candidates will be selected.
Salary : a sailor (GD/DB) will get a basic salary of ₹21,700 per month (pay scale-3), while for mechanical posts, a basic salary of ₹29,200 (pay scale-5) plus ₹6,200 mechanical allowance and other government benefits will also be given. Apart from this, this service also includes accommodation, ration, medical and promotion opportunities, which makes it an attractive career option.
