Must have studied Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to Class 12 (10+2 level) with a minimum of 60% aggregate in both subjects.

Candidates without Physics and Maths at the 10+2 level are not eligible for GD.

Technical (Mechanical):

B.E./B.Tech Engineering Degree with at least 60% marks in one of the following disciplines: Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Marine, Automotive, Mechatronics, Industrial and Production, Metallurgy, Design, Aeronautical, Aerospace.

Must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics as subjects.

Technical (Electrical/Electronics):

Engineering Degree with a minimum of 60% marks in any of the following disciplines: Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation, Instrumentation and Control, Electronics and Communication, Power Engineering, Power Electronics.

Must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics as subjects.

Selection Process: A Multi-Stage Assessment

The Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant selection process is rigorous and comprises five distinct stages, designed to select the most competent and deserving candidates:

Stage I: Screening Test (CGCAT – Coast Guard Common Admission Test)

A computer-based objective test with 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), carrying 4 marks each (1 mark negative marking for incorrect answers).
